Today, 31 October, Protestants celebrate the 500th anniversary of the reformation.

What began as a theological dispute in 1517, this event has had a huge impact on religious and cultural life of Europe, and then around the world – the economy, education, medicine and social structure.
500 years have passed, and now Protestantism is the second largest Christian denomination after Catholicism. The number of followers of this denomination has more than 800 million people. In 49 countries, the majority of citizens are Protestants, and the number of believers of this confession, according to the Pew Publishing Centre, the USA, Nigeria and China are leading.
